Hi, I’m Tykeria Prim, the founder of MyRoots Haircare — a proud Black-owned business built from purpose, passion, and a deep love for natural hair.

I started MyRoots while I was still a college student working toward a career in healthcare. When that path didn’t go as planned, I took it as a sign to shift gears and pursue something that felt more aligned with who I am — creating a brand that empowers others to embrace and care for their natural beauty.

That’s when MyRoots was born.

Our signature lightweight hair oil was the first product I created — made to moisturize, strengthen, and grow natural hair without weighing it down. Whether you're rocking braids, twist-outs, or a fresh silk press, this oil is designed to support and protect your hair through every style and season.

We specifically cater to African American hair types, with special attention to the needs of 4C textures — the most delicate, resilient, and richly coiled crown that deserves intentional care.
